6 month updateAfter paying to have this applied at a salon, I bought this set since I already had a UV light. If you are good at polishing your nails you can do this yourself and save plenty. You need to be committed to the color because it takes a half hour to soak it off. I have gone 3 weeks so far without a single chip on the ones I did myself. The "matching" OPI lacquers do NOT match all that well so I've had to learn to "fill" the bottom part because the tip color lasts like iron and is much shinier than any other polish. Oh and it doesn't have everything you need; you NEED acetone to soak this stuff off. The NAS99 (aka rubbing alcohol) does great for clean up and it IS included. But once this stuff is cured by the light you need to big guns to take it off. I have nice natural nails and this stuff is IT for keeping a neat manicure..highly recommend it for the committed. UPDATE I still love this stuff going ON, but read the reviews about others having it...
will never use regular polish again
Ok i tried this opi gel manicure after the nail lady said it would last 2 weeks...i thought yeah ok my manicure usually lasts 2 days well after 3 weeks i just got a small chip on my pinky. I am very rough with my nails, gardening, kids, dogs, computer, work as a nurse hands in water all day!! This new manicure is the BEST dont even hasitate. try it at your salon then do it yourself. The best ever invention!!
Great if applied and removed properly
This stuff is awesome! Regular nail polish doesn't even last a day on my paper thin soft nails. This stuff not only last almost 2 weeks for me but makes my nails stronger without making them unaturally tick like acrylics. Your manicurist needs to be patient when removing this though. I found a really great way to do this on another brand's website. soak a cotton ball with acetone, set it on your nail, and wrap your fingertip in foil. If you leave this for 10-30 minutes, it peels up on its own (no scraping or drilling) I also like this method because my fingers aren't soaking in the acetone which severely dries my skin.

Great alternative to regular polishI had Axium gel polish done twice at a salon then decided to save some $$ and learn to do it myself. Ironically, I've had better results doing it on my own than at the salon. I had peeling on day 2 after first having it done at a salon then had a bad soak-off experience the second time. After getting this kit and watching the DVD I realized why: the first time the nail tech didn't prep my nails properly and both times the tech used the top coat as base coat. If you follow the instructions in the DVD and use the products recommended (including OPI Expert Touch Lacquer Remover to soak off) you'll be pleased with a nice 10 day to 2 week manicure that lasts through all of the working mom punishment you can give it. It's going to take me a little practice to get it perfect but not much.
Great Colors
I really like this gel polish, because it is a polish (not gel nails). Pink colors are gorgeous, natural looking. I love the shine that the final gel coating gives. I'll admit, I've peeled them off rather than soaking off, but this was because I put it on too thick and it started to lift. Stregthens my nails and color looks great after even a week or 10 days, and I have 2 small kids. My hands are constantly in water. You should try this kit, it has everything you need except the UV nail dryer, which is required. I'd been wanting my own anyway,so I bought one and now I take it to my salon with me (along with all of my other stuff) so that I don't have to use theirs. When I don't have time to go the the salon, I do it myself at home. Very convenient.
Very happy with lasting results
This is a great alternative for people like me who can't use acrylic or gel nails because they make my job difficult. Nail polish would start chipping by the next day on my natural nails. I had this gel polish applied because my son was getting married and I wanted something to last through the weekend. So far, it's been 5 days and no chipping. My brittle nails haven't broken at all, either. I had it done at a salon, but will buy a uv light when I can find one in my price range and do them myself. At this point, they are very limited on colors, but I'm so happy with the results, that I can live with that. The manicurist told me that to remove the gel, she puts nail polish remover on a cotton ball, puts it on the nail, wraps in foil, and waits 15 minutes.

Didn't chip for two weeks!My niece gave me a manicure using this product, and it didn't chip at all for TWO WEEKS! Amazing! I am a jewelry designer, and my nails get a workout! I would recommend this to anyone! Don't forget, you have to use a UV light with this!
Great product
When you buy OPI, you know you're getting a quality product. Great gels. As I am not particularly familiar with the OPI Axxium range I unfortunately was not familiar with the contents of this particular package. It is a super starter package and you get everything you need apart from the lamp and it's easy to use but I'm not too fond of all the colours. The names of the colours are quirky but not descriptive. It would have been helpful if the description on Amazon was more detailed listing the exact contents including sizes. From the picture, I thought one of the gels was a white..but it's actually a kind of grey gel. Perhaps a general downloadable colour chart could be useful. Please keep in mind, I am a newbie and not familiar with OPI gel products. Apart from not using a couple of the colours, I am very happy with this product.
LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
I got this done last week and no chip is exactly what I have. NO CHIPS! I got it done at a salon and I would recommend this to any woman who is trying to get away from the acrylic nails. They buffed my nails by hand, not with that danged electric thing. They put the primer, the first clear coat on, then put 2 coats of the color. Then they put the sealer on. At first, I didn't like it because it didn't look as glossy as I had liked. I found that once you wash your hands later once the gel is cured with the uv light the shine comes back like you have acrylics on. Although it was much pricer than a fill-in and a little less than a full set, I would gladly pay for this again. I eventually will buy the system myself and start working on them! Only thing OPI needs to do is make more colors! I love the reds and pinks.
Nail Fail
This wouldn't have been too bad if after getting said thumb nail repaired I went home only to have my other thumb nail peel off that very night {double major boo}! I haven't even taken the time to go back because well basically I don't like spending 2 hours of my life (if you consider the first, second, and third time) getting one set of dag-gone gel nails done! I don't know if the guy didn't take the necessary time to do my nails accurately the first time or if my nails just don't take to the gel, but considering I haven't had any issues with my other nails (only my thumbs) I'm blaming the nail dude and not my nails! Ha!...
